A good day for the Little Giants. Yes, there is life after Dustin Huff, just as there was life after Jake Knott and Russ Harbaugh.

Do we miss number 4? You bet we do. But the Wabash team came together as a family, as a team, and as a group to pick up a good win at Millikin. We'll have a complete story on the way home (thank computer cell card!). We are having some technical problems with our photo cards (it is our first road game!), so you may have to wait until we return to campus for images from Jim Amidon, Howard Hewitt, and Elijah Sanders from The Bachelor.

CJ Gum (remember that name) with his first career tackle, Matt Whyde with his first career sack. Lots of Little Giants getting some action in the final two minutes.

Jared "Bubba" Lange picks up his third solo sack (3-1/2 total for the day for the senior). Wabash has recorded five sacks in the game. Five turnovers, five sacks --- sounds like a Wabash win to me....

Pressure by the defensive line forced a bad pass by Levingston. Junior strong safety Matt Kraft picks up his first interception of the season (and fifth turnover of the game for the Big Blue). Kraft takes it 25 yards for another Wabash touchdown.

Wabash 28, Millikin 6 with just over five minutes left in the game.

Kyle Augustinovicz has done what he was asked to do. Make some plays and don't make mistakes. He's managed the game well, throwing for 270 yards (22 of 30) with a TD pass.

Matt Hudson is in the game. A three and out series for Matt (can't really go with Hudie, I'll have to work on a nickname for him!).

Six minutes remaining in the game....

Chad Peterman just snagged his first interception of the season. And Scott Liska just caught his first career pass. Nice turn of events for the Little Giants once again. 

Four turnovers and missed field goal for Millikin. Coach Creighton wanted every player to elevate their game today. Find a way to make the extra effort. Sure looks like that's happening to me.

Eight minutes to go....

The Wabash offense has moved the ball well on this drive. Great catch and run by Gabe Guerrero, a run up the middle by Evan Sobecki, and another catch and run by Bart Banach sends Wabash back into Millikin territory. That is just before the second sack of the afternoon by the Big Blue puts the ball back at the Bash 49.

Augie had thrown to two receivers in the first half. Andrew Rode and Guerrero join Brock Graham and Bart Banach with catches. Just as I type this, Rode and Augie hook up again for a gain short of the first down. 

It does set up another big special teams play. Finley's punt is downed inside the 10 once again, this time at the five.

Wabash 21, Millikin 6 with 10:23 left in the game.

Coach Creighton tells me (he tells the team this too!) the keys to every game are special teams and turnovers.

The Wabash defense has forced the turnovers. Now for the special teams. Chad Peterman just downed a Chad Finley punt inside the 10 yard line. Little Giant special teams players have done another good job today!

Millikin shows blitz --- bad idea.

Augie hits (guess who?) Brock Graham on a screen pass to the left. Graham takes it 50 yards for the third touchdown of the game for the Little Giants.

Good answer by Wabash and a good short series (four plays) on the scoring drive.

Wabash 14, Millikin 6 with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.

I think Adi Pynenberg might be a good football player.

Big number 40 just stripped the ball away from Millikin's Justin Levingston near the goal line on a quarterback draw. Adi's over 300 tackles for his career (five today in the first half). Wabash offense takes over near its own 20. And is now marching backwards on a sack of Augustinovicz. Penalties kill the Little Giants on this offensive drive, giving the ball back to the Big Blue and returned across the 50 into Wabash territory.

First and ten for the Big Blue at their own 19.

But this time it was missed by Millikin. The Little Giants pitch a shutout in the first half.

Augie has 110 yards passing at the half (12-of-16).

Offense is fairly even. Wabash has 154 total yards of offense, while Millikin has 150.

The difference thus far - the Wabash defense. The Little Giants have made plays when they've had to (Darryl Kennon forced fumble and tipped pass) and have kept the offense in position to be successful.

Halftime is here (which in the media business means a sandwich and drink are just around the corner)....

Wabash 14, Millikin 0 with 4:07 left in the half.

(It's another Wabash College... not quite the way SmedIndy would say it, but it still works!!!)

The Wabash defense forces a three-and-out series, giving the ball back to the offense at the Little Giants' 22. A shovel pass to Graham moves the ball near midfield.

Graham came into the game as the Little Giants' leading receiver. Last week he caught eight passes for 44 yards and one TD. Today he already has seven catches for 64 yards.

Intentional grounding penalty against Wabash. Tough call. Looked like Sobecki was near the pass, but it didn't get back to the line of scrimmage. No question Augie was out of the tackle box, however, so I'm not quite sure what the call was based on.

Big punt by Finley and penalty pins the Big Blue deep in their territory. Another three-and-out, another punt. Kimp returns the kick across midfield into Millikin territory. Here comes the "O"...
