A Bevy of Phikeias

You’d have to go back to the fall of 1983 to find a larger Wabash Phi Delt pledge class. That class boasted 23 pledges including a future valedictorian; a brother with double-distinction in both is majors; an All-American, record-setting tailback; an All-American wrestler; and slew of brothers who have achieved great success at and after Wabash.

Alex Hawkins '15 is a swimmer from Jasper.

From a large incoming class of 295 freshmen, Indiana Beta proudly announces its fall 2011 pledge class:

  • Matthew Beard
  • Jesse Caldwell
  • Logan Cooper
  • Patrick Embree
  • Alex Fischer
  • Shije “Sean” Guo
  • Joe Harris
  • Alex Hawkins
  • Keaton Holsinger
  • Jace Pridgen
  • Ye “Jack” Yuan shows another student Chinese calligraphy during last fall's international festival.

  • Cody McKinnon
  • Danny Miller
  • Ryan Sandwith
  • Joshua Santana
  • Jackson Stevens
  • Jesse Stuckwisch
  • Ian Webb
  • Andrew Wilson
  • Travis Wilson
  • Ye “Jack” Yuan

The pledge class includes athletes in football, swimming, baseball, basketball, track, and golf. One young man was a Lilly Scholarship finalist, while two others were valedictorians of their high school class. Two pledges are sophomores from China who have already made an impact on the Wabash campus.

You’ll learn more about this remarkable class of future Phi Delts in the coming weeks.

The large pledge class resulted from a tremendous effort at rush by the brothers involving a strong showing at Honor Scholar Weekend; consistent communication through email, phone calls, Facebook, texts, and good ol’ fashioned face-to-face hospitality.
