We had some interesting events going on Friday. On Friday marked the 13th Annual Celebration of Student Research, an opportunity for students to showcase their work in front of fellow students, faculty, and alumni. This year was my first time participating in the event, and I presented both a poster (alongside Connor O’ Rear ’14) and an oral presentation.
Our poster concerned Facebook Usage and Narcissism. To make a long story short, what we found was that Facebook usage does not actually facilitate narcissism, but that narcissists tend to use Facebook more. It was a fun study to do, as not only did Wabash students participate, but Dr. Horton also got students from Virginia Commonwealth University to participate as well. My oral presentation was a showing of my immersion course research over the summer, a documentary I worked on last semester entitled, Ecuador: Afro-Ecuadorian Culture Documentary. I would showcase it on here, but I have not been able to upload it to the Internet yet! I will be sure to let you guys see it if I can get this huge file on here.

Jake “Chili” Childress and Adam Barnes Walking Like Studs to Our Last Dual Meet of the Season Against Kalamazoo
Friday also marked our final home dual meet against Illinois Wesleyan, who we swam strongly against. This was also senior night, and I want to give a shout out to Logan Rice ‘13 for being awesome this whole swim season. It’s been good having him around, and the team will not be the same without him next year. Saturday led us to our final dual meet of the season at Kalamazoo College in Michigan. It was a long ride up there, but it was fun to get that last dual meet out of the way before conference. Now all of us are heading into the homestretch! It is only a matter of time until we are fully rested and in Ohio.
