Dr. Richard Gunderman ’83 named Spinoza Chair of Medicine

Dr. Richard Gunderman, MD, PhD ’83, was awarded the Spinoza Chair of Medicine at University of Amsterdam earlier this month.  He was to deliver master classes and a keynote lecture this month at the University of Amsterdam.

Established in 1995 by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Amsterdam, the Spinoza Chair is named after Dutch Enlightenment philosopher Baruch Spinoza. Two high-profile laureates a year are chosen for this visiting professorship, one in medicine and one in philosophy.

Dr. Gunderman is professor of pediatrics, medical education, philosophy, liberal arts and philanthropy, and vice chair of education in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Indiana University.  Click here for the news release.
