Dave Broecker ’83 was the quarterback for his Carmel High School team, remembering, “We played every game like it was our last,” which paid off, as the CHS team went undefeated at 13-0 in Class 3A and won the 1978 state championship! Dave, who is a current Wabash College Trustee, went on to play football at Wabash, and was inducted into the Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992, having been a four-year starter, All American Quarterback, and NCAA Postgraduate Scholar.
After earning a master’s degree in engineering from MIT and a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago, he has founded three companies in the past three years and is currently working as a biotech entrepreneur.
Dave still has his hand in football, coaching his son Andrew’s middle school team. His son, Chris, Wabash ’16, is a linebacker for the Little Giants Football. He also organized a Class of ’78 football reunion for the Carmel High School homecoming for September 20, for the first team reunion since leaving Carmel.
