Dr. Glenn Elrod ’91 – a man on a mission in Haiti

Dr. Glenn Elrod ’91 is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Wasilla, Alaska – where the temperature today happens to be in the 40’s.  But since Monday this week, Glenn has been in a much warmer climate during a mission trip to Haiti.

Glen and his wife, Tara Kramer Elrod, who is a midwife, are volunteering at a hospital in Haiti — Tara is assigned to Labor and Delivery, and Glen to assist the one obstetrician “with whatever he needs.”  Click here to read “Day 3- The Doctor’s Perspective” from Tara’s blog about their experiences.

Glen graduated cum laude from Wabash with a B.A. in Biology, and earned his M.D. from Indiana University in 1997. He completed his residency at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, and after completing his residency, spent six years in the United States Air Force as an ob/gyn. He now has a private practice, Sleeping Lady Women’s Health Care, in Wasilla.
